Volunteers During Sale

We need your hubby!

We need strong men to help us with set-up and tear down.  As well as cover security during the sales event.  If you want to earn the additional benefits for volunteering, but can not volunteer yourself, just send us your hubby.  He can work those shifts for you!

Setup/Tear Down Crew
  • Build/Tear-Down clothing racks, shelving units, etc.
  • Unfold and set up tables or take down tables.
  • Heavy lifting involved
Security
  • Patrol the shopping crowds.
  • Ensure that clothes and shoes are not being tried on.
  • Keep children from playing on toys.
  • Watch for suspicious activity.
  • Help protect our Mamas Merchandise from those who are not trust worthy.

Most of our volunteers will be helping with Merchandising.

Merchandiser
  • Work directly with the inspection team to put out accepted items in the designated area.
  • Organize and display merchandise in the designated area.
  • Keep merchandise organized and neat. Keep merchandise off the floor!
  • Watch for theft or suspicious behavior.
  • Scan the items in your area for lost tags.
  • Pick up clothes that have fallen; rehang if tag is attached, or place in lost and found area if tag or merchandise is missing.
  • Scan clothes to keep gender/size in the right places.
  • Clear the last look tables/racks.
  • Help customers find merchandise, help figure out how things work, answer questions
  • Help customers with larger items.
  • Report theft or tag swaps
  • Help keep facility clean for sale.  This may include: sweeping/mopping the floor, taking out trash, checking restrooms,  etc.
  • Work together and help make our sale AMAZING!
Sort Volunteer
  • Sort unsold merchandise by consignor number.
  • Double check sort for accuracy.
  • Assist consignors with pickup.
  • Help keep facility clean.  This may include: sweeping/mopping the floor, taking out trash, checking restrooms,  etc.
  • Sort Volunteers get to shop the exclusive 90% sale.

The following positions are typically filled by our Super Volunteers

Greeter
  • We love our greeters to be energetic and outgoing, ready to greet everyone with a smile and ready to assist them in their shopping experience.
  • Greeter tags strollers and carriers, checks in bags.
  • Greeter checks consignors and volunteers in and out.
  • Greeter helps to keep the management team organized!
  • Help keep facility clean for sale.  This may include: sweeping/mopping the floor, taking out trash, checking restrooms,  etc.

Inspector
Are you detail oriented? Do you like inspecting and analyzing?   This job is for you!   Inspect items for quality and condition. Remember, everything accepted must be in nearly-new, excellent condition. Be ready to turn away items that aren’t up to MamaCents standards (it happens to the best of us;)

Cashier
  • Requires you to work under pressure, be comfortable with computers, handle cash and credit and work at a very fast pace.
  • Our cashiers are the last impression our customers have, so they must be helpful and friendly!
  • Help keep facility clean for sale.  This may include: sweeping/mopping the floor, taking out trash, checking restrooms,  etc.
